Self-Esteem Journaling Prompt #2

Self-esteem is like a magic potion, our bodies and minds can brew an endless supply.

Self-esteem is like a magic potion.  The nature of its charm is beyond logical understanding. Yet, we all know the feeling when that magic potion is flowing through our veins. It carries oxygen to our ideas and tints the world in vibrant hues of opportunity. Life is good.

Our bodies and minds can brew an endless supply of that magic potion.  There’s no finite limit to our self-esteem; it flows long and strong throughout our lives if we let it.

We all have days when we feel like our self-esteem has dried up.  Cactuses covered in spikes of frustration, criticism, fear and hopelessness stand when the sparking stream of self-esteem once flowed.

Do you get the picture?  Good.

Today’s journaling activity is this.

Imagine that your self-esteem is a magic potion trapped in a bottle hidden deep inside you.  A cork wedges the bottle shut, but its days will soon end.  You and I are on a mission to find that bottle and pop its cork so your self-esteem flows free.

Today, your activity is to create an image of the bottle that’s restraining your self-esteem. I want you to capture the scene at the point in time when you have popped the cork and your self-esteem is flowing free.

Give the image colour, movement and detail.

Feel free to draw, paint, collage or whatever medium works for you.
