Geeses / Kirrily Dear

I wrote this poem after the word 'Geese' appeared as a poetry prompt within the Poe-Art-Tree group.

Not long after I started writing it, the word "shemozzle" came into my mind and then I transfixed on intertwining the two words.

I'd love to pretend I had a high-brow reason for writing this poem, but alas, it was an act of pure fun.

Poem about geese, words below.

Geese by Kirrily Dear

A moment barely sucks its breath
before my sister’s wing be due.

I tilt, she sways, our bodies obey
the law of our primal juices.

Tuck close to me, dear sister,
on the winds of our bond we will soar.

New horizons we reach, when flying as geese,
not flapping like a shemozzle of gooses.
